As is today, the Old Fitzroy Hotel was frequented by many prominent Australian artists, eg. Russel Drysdale and John Olsen (who’s work “closing time at the old Fitzroy” is currently owned by the Art Gallery of South Australia.)

Our Upstairs bar is available for hire as a function room and can cater for up to 120 people comfortably. Some of the events we have catered for include: business functions, engagement parties, birthday parties, family reunions, short film releases, CD releases and charity fund raisers.

Facilities on this level include: a large screen projector, video and DVD player, a sound system with microphone and a private bar. Our bistro can provide food in the form of platters or individual meals; however, self catering is also permitted.
